Mora Parish offers an inspiring and pleasant workplace with ample room for your own initiatives.

We are now looking for a trained church musician or music educator who wants to help lead and develop the choir and music life in a congregation with a big heart. We have three districts; Mora, Sollerön/Venjan, and Våmhus, which collaborate and strengthen each other. The hospital church is also included.

With us, the musical activities are an integral part of the communal parish life and encompass both the classical repertoire and newer music. There is room to explore other creative opportunities and to develop our local cultural collaboration.

Your Responsibilities

The parish currently has a gospel choir, wellness choir, chamber choir, children's choirs, and several church choirs. We see it as particularly important to develop children's and youth music in the Mora district together.

Together with your colleagues, you will share duties during our worship services and ceremonies. You will design and carry out musical worship services and programs that complement the regular worship life, both individually and with your musician colleagues.

As an organist, you will have special responsibility for organ instruction and for the care of instruments in the parish.

There is a great opportunity to influence the content of your position and contribute to our activities with your specific skills and interests. If you are interested in leadership, there is the possibility to combine your position with a role as district manager in the parish.

Your main placement is in Mora, but work occurs throughout the parish.

Your Profile

As an organist, you have a degree as a church musician at level A.

We are looking for someone who is committed to strengthening both their own and others' musical development. You have a strong commitment to the singing and music of worship and possess a musical breadth that includes both older and newer music for church use. You are independent, take your own initiatives, and find the usual church music tasks important and enjoyable. You are a good choir leader who enjoys enhancing participation in music in various ways.

A requirement for the position is that you have good language skills in Swedish, where you can express yourself well in both speech and writing. A driver's license is an advantage.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
